A.I. Pet makes the process simple with a user-friendly onboarding flow. You do not need any coding knowledge or technical expertise. In just a few minutes, you can have a fully functional AI companion ready to chat. This guide walks you through every step of the process.
Step 1: Register an Account
Before you can create an AI friend, register for an A.I. Pet account with your username, email, password, and optional display name. Registration is automatically approved, and you are signed in after it succeeds. New users receive 50 welcome credits.
From your dashboard, you can create and manage your AI companions. If you already have an account, simply log in and proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Choose a Pre-Made Companion or Start Custom
A.I. Pet offers two ways to get started. The fastest option is to choose a pre-made companion. We currently offer Chi Chi, a friendly and cute 2-year-old dog who loves making new friends, and Ma Fan Jai, a 2-year-old cat who is famously grumpy and claims to hate everyone. Pre-made companions are ready to chat immediately and are a great way to experience the platform.
If you want something more personal, you can create a custom companion from scratch. This gives you full control over your AI friend's identity. You can choose any type of pet, give it a unique name, write a backstory, and define personality traits that will shape how it responds in conversation.
Step 3: Design Your Companion's Personality
The personality you choose for your AI friend determines how it responds in conversations. Think about what kind of companion you want. Do you want a cheerful, supportive friend who always encourages you? A witty, sarcastic companion who keeps you laughing? Or perhaps a wise, calm presence that helps you reflect? The possibilities are endless.
When designing your companion, consider its backstory. Where did it come from? What are its favourite things? What are its quirks? A few concrete details are often more useful than a long biography. A.I. Pet uses the selected traits and backstory to guide the character of its responses, so the details you choose can make a conversation feel more consistent with the pet you created.
Step 4: Start Your First Conversation
Once your companion is ready, it is time to start chatting. New users receive 50 free credits, so you can experience the platform without any commitment. Simply type a message and your AI pet will respond in character. Try greeting your companion, asking about its day, or sharing something about yourself.
Recent messages in the active chat can help the companion follow the immediate topic and respond more naturally. This supports an ongoing exchange, but it is not a guarantee of perfect long-term recall or a record of every detail you have ever shared. Treat the conversation as a personality-led creative experience rather than a replacement for human relationships or professional support.
Choose Details That Give Your AI Friend a Clear Voice
The most useful personality choices describe how a pet might respond, not only what it likes. A playful companion may use light humour and invite imaginative games. A calm companion may use slower, gentler wording. A curious companion may ask a specific follow-up when there is something interesting to explore. Combining two or three complementary traits is usually clearer than selecting many contradictory ones. You can also use the backstory to explain a small habit, favourite setting, or comic quirk that gives the companion something recognisable to draw on in conversation.
Appearance choices help make the character feel complete too. Select the pet type, fur length, colour, and name that fit the personality you have in mind. If you choose a custom pet type, keep the description straightforward so the initial avatar and chat profile remain easy to understand. The creation flow uses these choices to form the pet profile. A later generated photo is designed to preserve the created pet's visual identity while changing only the pose, expression, or scene.
Start With Specific, Everyday Prompts
A first message does not need to be dramatic. You could introduce yourself, mention a favourite meal, describe the weather, ask what the pet would do on a quiet evening, or invite it into a short fictional scene. Specific details make it easier for the companion to react in character. For example, instead of writing only “hello,” you might write “It is raining today—what would you choose for a cosy afternoon?” A pet with a playful backstory can answer differently from a pet that is quiet or thoughtful.
Keep expectations clear while you explore. The pet can acknowledge the immediate tone and details of a conversation, but it does not experience a real world, hold professional qualifications, or make clinical judgments. Do not use it for emergency assistance, diagnoses, financial decisions, legal advice, or sensitive account information. A.I. Pet gives new accounts 50 welcome credits, which covers the current 50-credit cost of creating a first custom companion. Chat messages, avatar regeneration, generated photos, treats, and Pet Gifts have separate displayed credit costs. Before any paid creative action is confirmed, the relevant screen shows the credit amount so you can decide whether to continue. Your Dashboard shows the available balance and provides the path to buy additional credits if you need them.
Credit purchases are final and non-refundable. If you decide to top up, review the displayed USD amount, the Terms of Service, and the Refund Policy before completing payment. The purpose of the guide is to help you create a companion you enjoy, not to encourage unnecessary spending. Start with a simple character and a few chats, then choose additional creative features only when they add something you value.
Step 5: Choose a Pricing Plan
After registering, you receive 50 welcome credits. You can purchase additional credits anytime: $49 for 50 credits (Starter), $198 for 200 credits (Popular), or a custom amount. Current credit costs include 50 credits to create a pet, 20 to regenerate an avatar, 1 per chat message, and 10 per generated pet photo.
